For more information please visit our website: Employment with the State of New Mexico Purpose of Position: The Network Administrator II provides technical support, project management, configuration, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, troubleshooting, security, disaster mitigation and recovery for the Human Services Department's (HSD) physical and virtualized network systems. This position is responsible for the integrity of the mission critical HSD network which delivers IT services in support of the agency's programs. This position provides support to all HSD divisions and employees. The Network Administrator II will also troubleshoot network performances issues, as well as analyze network traffic and recommend capacity planning solutions. The incumbent will serve in a technical lead role on assigned projects; ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of the department's networks; monitor and analyze network performance across the organization's LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments; monitor system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands; identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks; provide end user support as needed, administer and support video conferencing; and perform daily operational activities as assigned. Classification Description IT Network Administrator II Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in network administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totalingsix (6)years may substitute for the required education and experience.
